Melissa graduated with an MA in Music Therapy from the University of Derby and qualified as a Music Therapist in 2024. She is also a member of the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT).
Melissa has gained valuable experience working with children who have complex needs, including those with SEND, face emotional and behavioural challenges, or have experienced trauma. She also has experience supporting vulnerable adults, including those recovering from stroke, brain injuries, and those with learning difficulties.
Specialities & Interests
Trained in the psycho-dynamic approach to therapy, Melissa believes that music has the power to foster connection and attachment to build positive relationships, help individuals reconnect with their ‘inner child,’ and facilitate emotional expression in a safe space. Passionate about classical music, she plays the Erhu (Chinese bowed instrument), piano, and guitar.
