Dr Charlotte Cucciniello

Clinical Psychologist

Charlotte is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who completed her final year specialist Doctorate placement at Nature and Nurture Psychology before joining the team as a qualified member of staff in September 2023. She completed the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Staffordshire University with research focusing on supporting families at risk, such as children at the edge of care and exploring approaches/interventions that may be effective for parents and their children. This research was inspired by her strong interest in intergenerational trauma and advocating for trauma-informed support for families. She is passionate about exploring experiences first-hand through the eyes of the clients’ themselves in non-oppressive ways and highlighting their strengths and resilience.

Background

Prior to this, in 2013, she completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University and worked in clinical settings and as an Assistant Psychologist across a range of settings for 7 years, both in the public and private sectors. This included work within a neurorehabilitation unit, in a secure forensic mental health hospital and in a Child Protection Team, whereby there was a high prevalence of complex trauma and risk.

Training & Skills

She holds additional training as a High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, receiving Distinction from the University of Birmingham after completing a one year placement supporting adults with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Whilst Charlotte holds specialist skills in CBT, she adopts an integrative approach to therapeutic work utilising various theoretical approaches including attachment and DDP principles. She believes that there is no ‘one fits all approach’ to her work and is keen to adapt clinical work to suit individual needs and systems of care.
