Neurodevelopmental assessment
Cognitive assessment
Previous: Child session
You and your child will be invited to come in and meet with our specialists to enable your child to become familiar with our team.
Next: School observations
An assistant psychologist will attend your child’s school and observe them both in lessons and during free play time.
What is the cognitive assessment?
Some children may have differences in the way that they think and process information. This can be for a variety of reasons, but it may affect their education and their ability to manage in school. It may also impact on their skills of daily living, and how they learn new things.
If appropriate, we undertake a range of cognitive assessments with children and young people to assess not only cognitive differences that may lead to difficulties, but to also highlight strengths that can be built upon.
This information can be shared with school to enhance their experience in the classroom, and to increase understanding of people who support the young person at school. It can also be helpful to add to evidence for Educational Health and Care Plans where appropriate.

What is the cost of a Neurodevelopmental assessment?
We believe our prices are fair and very competitive when compared with other services. Please contact a member of the team to discuss further.

Where on the spectrum is my child?
We don’t comment on the “Severity” of Autism, we highlight whether the child is Autistic or not and focus on their individual needs which can vary from child to child. We are a neuro affirmative service and feel passionate about focusing on the strengths and differences that an individual might have, and how changes around the child can help to support them.
